Life’s Problems 1 – 4-02-2019

Problems making you feel like your world is crumbling

This is part one of a two part message on Problems. I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve got a mess of problems. I’m getting older, had to have surgery on my one good eye. It seems like everything that can go wrong has. and frankly I’m getting just a little bit tired of all these problems I’m facing. So it got me to thinking, how does God look at my problems? Well, I do believe He does care, I do believe He’s aware of them, after all He knows everything that is going on in my life. In 1st Peter Chapter 5 verse 7, “casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” Okay, I get it, I’m supposed to just turn them over to him, but I can’t call forward calls from bill collectors to Him, and unlike on Television, I can’t email him or Facebook, or Tweet to Him. While I don’t believe that He is going to come down and solve things for me, I do believe that if I am patient then He’ll show me the possible solution. In fact, eventually once I stop worrying about my problems and start praying for solutions to those problems, I actually being to feel better, because I can learn from my problems. In James chapter 1 verse 2 and 3, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.”

What happens is that when I don’t give up, when I don’t give in to depression or worry, or stress, eventually this too shall pass and I will be able to continue with life. I mean after all, I’m an old man, I have had more than my share of problems and troubles and so far none of them have taken my life. I learned that with prayer, as Jesus said, With God all things are possible. I believe that if I stay with God in my heart, with the Holy spirit guiding my thoughts, and my eyes firmly on Jesus knowing that he is walking beside me, everything will work out.

Paul tells us in Philippians chapter 4 verse 6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Stay faithful, stay in prayer, and if things get too bad and you think you just can’t take anymore, then reach out for help. Find a good solid brother or sister in Christ and the do what is said in Galatians chapter 6 verse 2, we read, “Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.” And if somebody reaches out to you, be there for them. We all have problems; we can solve them with help from Jesus.

God Bless and peace y’all

P.S. People who know me from my active pastoring days, know I never preach the prosperity Gospel. I don’t believe God is an ATM or a slot machine where if you put a dollar in you’ll get 10 back. I do know that in order to keep websites running, to be able to buy air time, ministries need help. If you feel lead to help me continue to spread His word, you can contribute at the link below.

If you can help, please do, thank you
