Seeking Justice 4-1-2019

If we practice justice, we find peace
More and more folks are calling out for justice. They see wrongs being committed on a daily basis and the world sure does seem unfair. Many people wonder if God’s justice will really prevail? The one thing you have to have is faith, often it becomes tough to maintain our faith. When that happens to me, I think back to the old times, before Jesus walked the earth, the Jewish people often went from times of plenty to times of enslavement, and life didn’t seem fair. We find in Psalm 96 verses 12-13 a prayer of hope. “Let the field exult, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy Before the Lord, for He is coming, For He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness And the peoples in His faithfulness.” There can be no accurate prediction as to when it will happen, so in the meantime we have to do our best to work for justice for all.

How can I work effectively for justice? Remember the words in Romans chapter 13 verse 7 “Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.” Justice is a matter of doing the right thing, being fair to others. If we treat others respectfully, as we want to be treated then we are practicing justice. We have all seen the image of the “scales of justice” where lady liberty is blindfolded, that means justice is to be blind to individuals, no prejudice one way or the other. Unfortunately today it seems like the scales of justice are weighted towards those with the most money or the most power, and that’s not true justice. Those who do have biases are not blessed and are not held in high esteem by God.

In Psalm 106 verse 3 we see, “How blessed are those who keep justice,(Judgment) Who practice righteousness at all times!” It can be difficult, because we have to overcome our own prejudices, our own mental images. But it can be done, but only if each of us does our best to keep the scales of justice balanced.

God Bless and peace y’all

P.S. People who know me from my active pastoring days, know I never preach the prosperity Gospel. I don’t believe God is an ATM or a slot machine where if you put a dollar in you’ll get 10 back. I do know that in order to keep websites running, to be able to buy air time, ministries need help. If you feel lead to help me continue to spread His word, you can contribute at the link below.

If you can help please do, thank you
